Relay for Life 2010

Our club has two teams participating in this year's Relay for Life. The event will be held in Oak Harbor, Washington on June 4th and 5th. As part of our fundraising efforts, the club will be raffling two quilts with connections to our members.

The quilt on the left was made by members Marjorie Bachert and Lisa Harkins. It is a One Block Wonder quilt made
from a fabric patterned with Chinese water dragons and traditional wave patterns. A pair of herons is appliquéd in
the corner, to commemorate the name of our dragon boat, the Blue Heron.

The quilt on the right is a crazy quilt made by our beloved member, Mary Stoll. She recently passed away after losing a short battle with lung cancer. We will be thinking of her especially as we walk in the Relay. Her quilt is a lovely, large, sumptuous crazy quilt made from various velvet fabrics.

Raffle tickets for these quilts can be purchased from the North Puget Sound Dragonboat Club. We will be at the Holland Happening, as well as other local events, to sell them, or you can contact team leader Linda Haslund. The drawing will happen on the weekend of the Relay. Come on out an support us!
